Bonita's Surgery & Ice Day

We're having an ice day today, so Bennett and Mommy are doing crafts. Daddy has to work-bummer. Bonita went to the vet yesterday b/c we found a little pea-size mass under her skin. The vet said it was a cyst and needed to be removed, so today Bonita had surgery. When she came home, she promptly ate her stitches while Mommy wasn't looking. Now we're headed back to the vet for more stiches, and I'm sure, one of those crazy collars. Good times.

Nap-Free, Like it or Not

Bennett refused his nap (20 minutes does NOT count) and was horrible Saturday evening, but then got a long nap Sunday and was great. Here's a Sunday picture.

Pool

We went out last night to shoot some pool and get some grown-up time in, and Bennett took a liking to the pool stick this morning. Maybe he'll follow in his PopPop's footsteps and be a pool shark or maybe he'll really suck at pool like his mother. We shall see...

Bennett with his cousins

What we all miss most about not being in Houston are moments like these. While down on Christmas break we spent the day with our neice and nephew. We went to the Museum of Natural History, went to Amy's Ice Cream Shop, and finished off the day playing games and eating pizza at Itz.

Here is a short video (sorry for the crappy quality it is from my phone).

Art

Life with Bennett has been really enjoyable lately. He's been in a really great mood, fewer tantrums, and he's cracking us up with all his new antics. Just tonight he learned to say "daddy" (daa-ee) as in "bye bye da-ee". He tells the dogs "no dog" while shaking his finger at them. Yesterday in Victoria's Secret, he was putting bras on his head as I browsed. Too cute! He's not quite sleeping through the night like before the Christmas trek, but he's also getting his molars in. He's got the 2 top molars and now he's getting in the bottom two. These really seem to have bothered him, but he's still putting on a happy face most of the time. Here are some pictures taken this evening. The first one is Bennett showing off his art work from school. Then he proceeded to pull all the colored noodles off and feed them to the dogs. The second one is Bennett playing in his box house, which he knocked over right before I could take a picture of him inside.
